It’s perfectly normal nowadays to have your stag do or your hen party abroad, but now more and more people are actually getting married abroad too. It does sound pretty cool when you’re able to say to your friends that you’re getting married on a sandy beach, or on the cliffs of a tropical island, but is it all that it’s cracked up to be?
One of the main problems is obviously cost, but even if you can afford it, your guests may not be able to, and some of your important family members or friends may miss your big day. It can also be very tiring, especially if you’re just flying out for the wedding, and if it’s on the other side of the planet, you could suffer from jet lag. You may also find yourself sweating in your wedding dress, or perhaps even sunburnt, and you have to take all of these aspects into account before you decide on marrying abroad.
Remember, you always have the honeymoon to look forward to, and you could spend a couple of weeks in a beautiful country rather than just several days.
