There’s a lot of pressure on a man choosing the right engagement ring, especially if his partner has absolutely no clue that he’s set to propose. Some people say that you should always spend three month’s salary on an engagement ring, but come on, that would be ridiculous.
Think of the mortgage, the bills, food and clothing you can get with 3 month’s salary. Why waste it all on a ring, even your partner wouldn’t want you to do that, unless you’re made of money! It’s no surprise that the majority of men spend around £500-£1,000. It’s what they’re willing to spend, it’s what they can afford and we salute them for it.
The ring is a symbol of love, and frankly the price shouldn’t matter. If you can find a ring that your wife absolutely loves–without spending a great deal—then good on you! Don’t listen to society’s out-dated rules!
