October – A risky month for a wedding?

October is always a bit of an odd month in the UK for weddings. If the weather turns out to be sunny and slightly warm, people are ecstatic. If it rains all day people are frustrated and annoyed. There doesn’t seem to be an ‘inbetween’ in October, and that’s why it’s one of the riskiest months to have your wedding.

It can be worth taking the risk though, and venues charge considerably less for the month of October than they do for say June, July, August or September. That’s understandable, but even so, if you do decide to get married in October, you should choose a venue with good indoor facilities. October is the ultimate month for an autumn wedding, so there are some great photo opportunities, especially when the leaves start to turn crisp and golden, and fall from tall trees.

The setting can make for some colourful photos, but there will probably be soggy mud, rain and a chill that turns your face blue. That said, after the disastrous summer of 2015, any day in the year is unpredictable!
